Dark rockers Detroit Social Club make it to Berlin to play a late night gig as part of the Karrera Klub party at Magnet Club.Tipped heavily by a number of prominent music magazines to make it into the bright lights, here’s your chance to catch them at a low-key, high-cool concert.
The music’s something you’ll like if you haven’t checked them out already, quite dark and intricate, innovative but somehow still living within the borders of the “indie” genre, whatever it is that indie means these days. But you get the drift. Think Tool meets the Kaiser Chiefs, if you were going to make the, fairly crass, union.
Here’s the film clip for their debut single, Rivers & Rainbows:
They have been very busy of late, the new self titled album from them came out beginning of June and since then, they’ve announced shows supporting Doves as well as finding themselves on the UK Virgin Festival lineup. So you should really get a look now, before you and I are just the little people that they first forget once the fame and the fortune get to them. or the drugs and the hookers. which is also possible.
Support: The Kabeedies! Fun jangle indie pop with angsted out harmonie vox and a good look. You’ll dig it. I know you well enough to be able to say that.
